tid bits of our life...

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Busy. Busy. Busy. We've had company in town front to back and enjoyed every minute of it. We're decorating the tree tonight, it has been up for over a week, alright maybe more like two weeks and there is not a single ornament on it; oops.

This past weekend we spent our time with my parents. While over there we were blessed to hear a lesson on The Vine and the branches that I just can't stop thinking about, it was excellent, very thought provoking! I think we've pretty much decided for sure on the name Ila Kate. It's been a little challenging with everyone throwing names at us left and right, but we really can't let go of Ila, it's her name, we just know it. Speaking of baby girl, she's active, oh my lands she's moving all around! We really can't get over the fact that we're having a little girl. I still catch myself looking at only little boy stuff, hard to believe there will be a little girl in our house in less than 3 months.

{homemade applesauce}

OH MY LANDS...IT'S SO GOOD (and good for you)! My mom gave me the recipe.

Tonight, we had breakfast for dinner, the applesauce made a GREAT topping for my toast! Can you imagine it on top of oatmeal!

2 lb.. apples (about 8)
peeled, cored and sliced
1/2 cup boiling water
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar

Bring water to a boil.
Add apples and salt. Cook in covered pot until soft (8-10 minutes for chunky applesauce; 12-15 minutes for smoother applesauce).
During the last minutes of cooking time, stir sugar into applesauce mixture.
Simmer just long enough to melt sugar.

For additional flavor, add 1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon.

My Husband

My husband is a good person. He's the same man behind closed doors that he is out in the open. He's as sweet as gold to the world, and to me, his wife of 5 years, he's even sweeter. 

The man I married, is a man of great character!

I love him more and more as the years pass and I thank God and feel so blessed to be apart of Tyler's life in the most intimate relationship we can have on earth.

Just overheard Carson in the playroom playing with a make believe drum set, I heard a pause, an applause with him clapping and "wooing" and then heard him yelling out "THANK YOU!" - All in creative play - just as if he's on a big stage with 1000 people in the audience. It's in these moments that I will bottle up in my memory bank and cherish for the rest of my life!

I'm 16 weeks and THRILLED! I'm feeling a lot better, only tired, but life goes on and boy am I excited! I scheduled my appointment for my next ultrasound, 4 more weeks and we'll know either BOY or GIRL!!!!
